Scripps Institution of Oceanography IGPP Munk SIO Research & Office

Historic exterior building retrofit including structural and cosmetic upgrades of Redwood constructed and clad building. Historic intent preserved by meticulous blending of new and existing Redwood. Removed/replaced deteriorated roof beams and structural support posts.

UCSD Thornton Hospital – ICU Renovation

Cosmetic remodel of the 8,000sf 2nd floor Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on an extremely compressed timeline. Project scope included refinish of all ICU room aluminum glass door assemblies, rework of 12 headwalls, new sheet vinyl flooring throughout, extensive casework modifications.

San Diego Dental Health Center

Built-out state of the art dental oncology clinical space for dental practice collaborating with UCSD Cancer Medicine, serving specialized dental needs of head and neck cancer patients.

Walnut Professional Building

While medical/dental building was fully occupied and operational, replaced 15,000 sf of curtain wall glazing plus custom extruded aluminum cladding system on existing curtain wall mullion, replacement of existing interior courtyard guardrails with structural glass railing;

Scripps Institution of Oceanography Nimitz Marine Facility (MarFac) Bldg Exterior

Weatherization and facility fenestration upgrades. Installed new roof, 68 new full height window replacements including new mullion and dual glazed glass, operable windows, and sliding glass doors.

UCSD Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center Emergency Preparedness Bldg

Ground-up construction of 22’ tall masonry building clad in limestone to integrate with existing Emergency Room and ambulance covered canopy, including coupling the foundation of new construction with existing overhead structure at occupied hospital.

Canale Communications

Design/Build interior and exterior retrofit of 1957 barrel rooftotaling 5,000. Extensive scope included expansion of existing mezzanine, new and retrofit restrooms, staff lounge, roof replacement, complete new high-end finishes, realigned entryway and building frontage upgrades.

Mission City Corporate Center – Fitness Center

TI in active building complex to create new fitness center and lounge area for commercial tenant enjoyment. Open ceilings, high bay lighting, built out new restrooms with private showers, locker and workout facilities, installing all new electrical, HVAC and plumbing packages.

National Veterinary Associates – Lifetime Animal Care Center

Animal surgery center expansion to include new operatory with med oxygen and vac, new reception/break area, new animal exam rooms, and outdoor animal anesthesia recovery area with masonry and wood open air enclosure, adding approx.

CSU San Marcos Viasat Engineering Pavillion

This two building Univserity lab project supports CSU San Marcos’ growing Electrical and Software Engineering programs.

Lifeproof / Otterbox Headquarters & Test Labs

Two phase project consolidation of fully occupied facility office and communications technology R&D lab from 25,000 to 17,000 sf. Scope required complete demolition to shell conditions for all areas, then full high-end office build out plus audio laboratory with anechoic chamber, testing laboratory for electronic devices and tool and technical area for C&C machine and 3-D printer.

Frank Motors Retaining Wall & Auto Receiving Lot

Large scale earthwork and retaining project with 9,000 CF biofiltration basin to prefilter all storm run off before entering city storm distribution network. Scope included handling 5,000 CY native soil on a tight site, construction of over 400 LF of 24’ tall MSE Wall (GeoGrid) to abut canyon fill to create new level vehicle storage area.

Ajinomoto Foods North America, Inc. – Food Production Line

Multi-phase reorganization of FDA frozen food manufacturing plant process line and high pile refrigerated storage facility. Plant fully operational running 3 shifts per day for 90% of the construction project.

NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center – Shuttle Support Facilities at Edwards AFB

Incorporated selected remediation and demolition of 25 outdated support buildings totaling 52,000 sf of structure, spread over 38 acres for NASA installation at Edwards Air Force Base. All underground utilities supporting these buildings were located, isolated and removed.
